    The Black Achiever Awards honors Black role models in South Florida who exemplify exceptional community service through:

    • Extending their efforts beyond personal gain to enhance the lives of others.
    • Inspiring change and motivating future generations.
    • Dedicating time and talents to strengthen the community
  4. Nominee's Qualifications:

    In 600 words or less, describe how the nominee exemplifies the ideals mentioned above within their chosen category.

  5. Unique Accomplishment:

    In 600 words or less, detail a singular achievement that uniquely qualifies the nominee for this award.

  6. Additional Supporting Materials:

    Include any other pertinent information for the judging panel, such as links to relevant sites and materials.

Rules, Conditions and Criteria

All nominees for the Black Achiever (Achiever) in the categories of "Arts & Culture," "Business & Entrepreneurism," "Community Service," and "Education" must be eighteen (18) years of age or older and a legal resident of or employed in Miami-Dade, Broward and/or Palm Beach county. Past Achievers are not eligible for additional nominations regardless of category. Nomination forms and supporting materials become the property of JM Family Enterprises, Inc. (JMFE). Independent judges are selected by representatives of JMFE and their decisions are final. Each Achiever receives the right to designate a contribution in an amount to be determined by JMFE to the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of his/her choice. All Achievers must agree to permit broadcast and online advertising and publicity without further compensation. Associates ("employees") and their immediate family members of JMFE, its subsidiaries and affiliates are not eligible to win. For these purposes, immediate family members are defined as: mother, father, sister, brother, non-dependent children, mother-in-law, father-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, step-parents, step-siblings, and step-children. JMFE reserves the right to alter rules or other program elements without notification.
